The best part of festivals is the music, and the second-best part is definitely all of the fun, colorful makeup looks that people come up with. From glitter roots to rhinestones on your cleavage, there are so many ways to get creative with festival makeup. Here are seven of my favorite makeup ideas:
Glitter roots
The glitter roots look is an easy one, and it can either be done with a spray bottle or a brush. If you want to use the spray method because you’re in a rush (which we understand), simply grab some glitter glue or spray and add it to your hair as described above.
Tips: When adding glitter to your roots, make sure it doesn’t get on your face! You don’t want to end up with glitter pieces all over yourself at the end of the night.
Mascara on your eyebrows
Mascara is a great way to add definition and shape to your eyebrows, but it can be difficult to apply. Let’s talk about the best ways to do this so you get a natural-looking brow that’s full of volume.
How To Apply Eyebrow Mascara:
Apply a thin layer of mascara on top of your eyebrow powder or pencil. This helps set the product in place and gives it extra staying power throughout the day.
Get as close as possible without getting messy with the wand, making sure not to clump together any strands that are too far from each other (you want them all separated). Always start at the front of your brows first so they’re well covered before moving back toward where they meet at an angle—this makes sure none get left behind! Don’t forget those little hairs near your inner eye either; sometimes those go unnoticed until later in life when everyone else has already mastered this skill!
Rhinestones
Wear rhinestones on your face. If you’re feeling like you want to wear rhinestones, but don’t want to put them on your body, then put them on your face! Rhinestone-studded eyeliner and lip gloss can be cute and subtle additions to any festival look.
Wear rhinestones on your body. If you’re not into the whole “I don’t want to just wear straight-up jewelry; I want my clothes covered with it too!” vibe—which is totally fine—then try wearing some rhinestones as part of an outfit rather than as accessories. You can do this by using them on a shirt or pants that have been made with sparkly material like sequins or metallic threads (or even just glitter). This way you get all the glory without having anything permanent stuck onto your skin!
Holographic highlighter
Holographic highlighter is a new kind of highlighter that’s all the rage right now. It’s basically an iridescent powder that gives your skin a rainbow-like glow when it’s applied on top of matte foundation or concealer. It’ll look particularly magical in photos, so if you have a big event coming up and want to make sure you look good, a holographic highlighter is definitely the way to go!
To apply it, simply sweep your brush over the product and blend it all around your face in circular motions. The result will be subtle but striking enough to make people notice—and maybe even ask for some tips on how you achieved such a gorgeous glow!
Metallic eyeliner
Metallic eyeliner is a great way to add a little sparkle to your look. Whether you’re going for a festival look or just want to add some color, it’s easy to create and can be applied on the eyes, lips, and cheeks. The best part about metallic eyeliner is that it’s versatile–you can wear it as an everyday eye shadow or use it for special occasions like festivals!
Metallic makeup looks great in general because it reflects light so well. They tend to be made with pigments that reflect light rather than absorb it like other colors do (like black). If you’ve ever seen someone wearing metallic lipstick at night time then you know how much she glows! This kind of glow doesn’t happen with regular lipstick because light isn’t reflected off of ordinary lipsticks very much at all–but if you apply something like gold glitter overtop then suddenly there’s more room for reflection!
Gems on your cleavage
You can attach gems to your cleavage using glue, velcro, safety pins or clips. If you want a more natural look, opt for velcro or safety pins as these will not damage your skin. However, if you want something fancier and sparkly; then go for the glue method!
To attach gems using glue:
Apply a thin layer of superglue over the area where you want to place your gem. It would be best if this was done on bare skin (as opposed to makeup) so that there is no risk of damaging any painted surface afterwards. Use caution not to get any glue near your eyes because it could irritate them!
Place the gem onto this glue-covered area and press firmly until it sticks well enough but not too hard that it damages whatever material makes up that part of your body (in case its fabric).
A sparkly lip or cheek look
The easiest way to get this look is with a lip or cheek highlighter. If you want to go the extra mile, try using a cream blush on your cheeks and powder blush on your lips. But if you’re looking for something more drastic, nothing says festival ready like the sparkly glosses and shimmers we see every year at Coachella. For an even more dramatic look, try using a shimmery lipstick instead of gloss—it’s sure to turn heads! Or how about going all out with an eyeshadow palette? You can use different hues depending on how much time you want to invest in getting ready—from one color that’ll take just five minutes (a bold red) or several colors that’ll take 45 minutes (a glittering smoky eye).
You can be creative with makeup
There is no right or wrong way to wear festival makeup. You can be creative with the way you use makeup and express yourself, whether it’s by using bright colors or mixing different styles together. Experimenting is encouraged! If you really don’t have the time or talent for makeup, it’s best to rely on fantastic face painting in Melbourne. Then you will be sure that you have a unique makeup for the festival.
If you’re feeling bold, try out some new looks at the festival. There will be plenty of other people around who are also trying new things—you’re bound to meet some like-minded individuals who will enjoy your sense of adventure!
People tend to think outside the box when they’re at a festival; maybe that means going without any makeup at all or trying out something completely new (like painting patterns on your face).
The idea of a festival is to enjoy yourself and have fun. So, adding makeup to the mix can be a great way to express yourself, feel good about your appearance, and add an extra level of excitement for your event-going experience. That being said, there are many different types of festivals out there and each one requires its own unique look. For instance, if you’re going to Coachella then boho chic makeup might not work well because it may be too heavy or dark for bright sunny days spent outside in the California desert heat! On the other hand though if you’re going as a unicorn then obviously glitter eyeshadow will help bring out all those magical rainbow vibes that every girl wants on her face during this time of year 🙂
So now that we’ve figured out what kind of festival look works best with each one we can get started on our next question: what do I wear? This is definitely a topic for a new blog, but we encourage you to create the best fashion combination that will express your makeup.
